Starkey Comfort Open domes
Starkey Comfort Open domes are lightweight, soft-silicone tips engineered to allow natural sound to pass through while providing a stable fit for RIC and thin-tube hearing aids. They reduce the occlusion effect and maintain ventilation in the ear canal.
Why choose Open over Occluded
Open domes permit more airflow, giving a more natural perception of your own voice and reducing the “plugged” feeling. They’re ideal when feedback isn’t problematic and when your hearing loss is mild to moderate in the low frequencies.
Compatibility and sizes
Open domes are compatible with Starkey models such as Destiny, Livio, Halo, Muse, Zon, and more. Choose from sizes 5 mm, 6 mm, 7 mm, 9 mm, and 11 mm to fit your ear anatomy.
Usage and replacement
Replace open domes every 1–2 months or sooner if you observe discoloration, blockages, or decline in sound quality.
Steps for replacement:
- Firmly grip the dome or tube and pull to remove
- Align the new dome correctly
- Push until it securely clicks in place
Benefits
Starkey Comfort Open domes help preserve the natural qualities of sound by allowing ambient acoustics to blend with amplification. Their design reduces the feeling of fullness in the ear and offers a more comfortable listening experience. The soft silicone mold conforms gently to ear canal contours, minimizing irritation. By preventing accumulation of wax, moisture, and dirt inside the tubing, they protect internal components and support consistent performance. Regular replacement maintains optimal comfort and clarity in daily use.
