Hooks

Keep your Rexton hearing aid stable with discreet hooks

Hearing aid hooks are small retention devices designed to anchor your behind-the-ear (BTE) or receiver-in-canal (RIC) system inside the ear. They wrap behind the ear ridge and hold your unit in place to prevent slippage during movement, sweat, or everyday activity.

Which Rexton hearing aid models use hooks?

If your Rexton device uses a thin tube or wire system, you can often fit a hook without losing acoustic clarity. The hooks are compatible with many Rexton lines that use snap or wire connections—models that share the same retention interface as Signia, Siemens, or audio service devices may also accept the same hook types.

To install:

  • Slide the hook over the wire or tubing at its base
  • Guide it behind your ear ridge
  • Test gently to ensure it doesn’t press against skin or feel tight

Check for signs of wear, cracking, or discoloration. Replace immediately when the hook begins to stiffen or loses elasticity to maintain comfort and retention.

How does a hook improve your daily experience?

When you lead an active life – walking, talking, exercising – or live in humid areas, your hearing aid may shift slightly. A retention hook prevents that movement, ensuring uninterrupted listening and reducing micro-feedback that occurs from shifting. Because it sits outside the sound path, the hook doesn’t compromise the acoustic performance of your aid. Its design also helps block moisture, sweat, and built-up ear wax from infiltrating junctions between wire and housing, which helps prolong the life of internal parts.
